Transitioning to the Skills for Success Framework
The Skills for Success Framework has been designed to intentionally and explicitly embed on programmes, surface through teaching and allow students to articulate the skills we know are needed for success. The new framework updates the wording and style of the existing Graduate Attributes without losing the essence of why a framework is needed.
The Skills for Success Framework has been developed to help students succeed within a rapidly changing working environment. It supports the aspiration of the Edinburgh Student Vision and the University’s Learning & Teaching Strategy.
Senate Education Committee has endorsed a phased transition from Graduate Attributes to the new framework. The skills have been mapped against the Graduate Attributes to support this transition. Support is also available from the Senior Design Lead (Skills for Success) to help staff apply the new framework meaningfully in their setting. Contact: lorna.devlin@ed.ac.uk
